Vincent has redefined the
pure sound of hybrid technology with the SV-236. Particular care
was taken with respect to the shielding: input relays as well as
the remote control circuitry have their own shielded compartments
and even the volume control hides behind a wall of steel.
Two gigantic lateral walls
of cooling ribs imply purity of sound. In order to avoid hard and
annoying distortions, altogether eight output transistors are
doing their job at high bias currents, also known as Class-A mode
of operation.
In order to preserve the sonic warmth of a
musical rendition, Vincent has employed a set of double-triodes
also in the circuitry of the preamplifier section. When listening,
you savour the sonority of the basses and its rendering of jazzy
rhythms makes you tap your feet. A fluid midrange and silky trebles
provide a generous soundstage and swinging elegance for any kind
of music. This is indeed a combination for music lovers
that prefer a tube-sound at its best.
The illumination of the vacuum
tubes can be dimmed or switched off.
